The high performance Whirl Wind “A” Series counterweighted aerobatic propeller systems incorporate a “scimitar” style swept-tip blade profile and are available in two or three blade configurations. The systems consist of carbon fiber blades with electroformed nickel leading edge erosion shields, CNC machined aerospace grade aluminum hub and a composite spinner assembly. The 200AC / 400AC propellers have been designed for operation in the rain and snow and are perfectly suited for operations off unimproved airstrips.
The idealized blade shapes of the 200AC / 400AC Series propellers are possible due to advanced carbon composite structure manufacturing techniques developed by Whirl Wind. This cutting edge process involves overlaying the thermoset carbon fiber composites over a high density foam core. This new technology has yielded a thinner yet very strong blade. The highly tapered swept blade plan form airfoil design has been designed for optimized blade loading distribution resulting in maximum efficiency and minimum noise. The aggressive airfoil of the 200AC / 400AC delivers tremendous thrust for improved vertical penetration as well as great braking for long down lines.
These elements combine to produce the high performance propellers required to meet the demands of today’s high performance aerobatic airplanes.
